In the morning March 22nd, Mr. Ho Dac Trai, Deputy Director of Da Nang Museum said the event introducing the traditional culture of the Co Tu ethnic people in Da Nang and Quang Nam on the theme “Co Tu culture – Location of community identity” will be held on March 29th on 41 year anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang city (29/03/1975 – 29/03/2016).
Da Nang 1st time to organize Co Tu cultural festival
This is the first time Da Nang organizing this event in order to promote more extensive cultural values as well as a way to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Co Tu ethnic people.
“We invited Co Tu artists in Quang Nam, Da Nang to replay Gong Culture Festival and a number of traditional craft. At the festival, residents and visitors can learn about the culture of the Co Tu ethnic minority through these artisans. They are the most knowledgeable people and directly conserve, preserve cultural values, the traditional craft of the Co Tu, “Mr Ho Dac Trai said.
Accordingly, the festival will involve the introduction and demonstration of traditional crafts of the Co Tu people in Da Nang, Quang Nam including: brocade, rattan weaving, wood carving of six artists from Ta Lu, Ba commune (Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province), introducing speciality wine Phu Tuc with gongs dance team of Hoa Bac (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang).
