In the morning of March 19th, 2016, at Indochine hotel, Kon Tum city, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Kon Tum province held a conference on the preliminary 10-year of intangible cultural heritage preservation of “space of gong culture”.

As reported by the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Cultural Heritage of Space of Gong is one of the extremely unique and precious cultural heritages of ethnic minorities in Highlands.
Since the space of gong culture was recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2005) and later transferred to the intangible cultural heritage of humanity (2009), the conservation, inherit and promotion of the value of cultural heritage gongs of the Central Highlands ethnic minority people has been paid special attention by the Party committees, local government and communities, as an important content in the construction and development of culture imbued with national identity.
The positive contribution
So far, after more than 10 years registed by UNESCO, it can be seen heritage has made a positive contribution to cultural life, the spirit of ethnic communities living in the area, contribute to conservation, preserve the identity, cultural diversity of region, nation and internation.
