Main transport routes from Hanoi to Halong
From Hanoi to Halong Bay, you can follow these routes.
First, it is the route of Hanoi – Bac Ninh – Halong, which is 155 kilometers long. This is the shortest road from Hanoi to Halong. It takes you from 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes by car. From Hanoi, you go along the road 5 – Sai Dong junction with the distance of 10 kilometers. Then, you move a distance of 23 kilometers following the road 1 – Bac Ninh. From Bac Ninh, you take the road 18 – Pha Lai – Chi Linh – Dong Trieu – Uong Bi – Ha Long with a length of 122 kilometers.
The second route is Ha Noi – Hai Duong – Ha Long with a length of 170 kilometers. This is a favorable road. From Hanoi, you go through Hai Duong to come to Nam Sach town, then turn to the Highway 183. After going through Sao Do, Dong Trieu and Uong Bi, you will reach Halong in the period of 3 to 4 hours.
The last one is Ha Noi – Hai Duong – Hai Phong – Halong that is 160 kilometers long. Going through Hai Duong, you will approach Quan Toan, Haiphong, then turn to the Highway 10 connecting the National Highway 18A in Uong Bi town to Halong. It will take you from 3 hours to 3 hours 30 minutes.
Railway from Hanoi – Kep – Ha Long: 190 kilometers
The railway departs from Yen Vien Station (Hanoi) at 5:15 a.m and the time for traveling is 7 hours. Currently, this road is being renovated and may become the most modern railway in Vietnam after being completed and put into operation.
The route of Noi Bai international airport (Hanoi) – Bac Ninh – Ha Long is 160 kilometers long. The road from Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) to Halong is very convenient and helps you save time. From Noi Bai International Airport to Bac Ninh is 32 kilometers. When coming to Bac Ninh, you turn to National Highway 18A and go through Pha Lai, Sao Do, Dong Trieu and Uong Bi to go to Halong.
